Chrome study tools: quizzes, Split View and picking up across devices
· 2 min read · — views

Google outlined several study and research features for Chrome on September 24, 2026. They cover understanding material with Gemini, organizing tabs and continuing work across devices. This CK44 Online briefing was published on September 25; the announcement was made a day earlier.
What is changing
On desktop, Gemini in Chrome is expanding its audio and video capabilities to more types of content. It can also create practice quizzes from material in an open tab. The initial quiz rollout is in English for desktop users in the United States and India. That does not establish availability for every account in Bangladesh.
Reading alongside your notes
Tab Groups organize pages by subject, while Split View keeps references and writing side by side. Google also describes preserving a tab’s scroll position and partially completed forms when sending it to another device.
What readers can do
Check which features are available in your own browser and account. Treat AI summaries and quizzes as study aids, and compare important claims with the original material.
